Pedaling4Pups 2.0
Drum roll, please!
Introducing the new and improved Pedaling4Pups!
It's been a while since I shared my exploits trekking down the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. We climbed mountains together, fought off bears together, and even shared our deepest darkest secrets, well, I did at least -- but you get the point.
Needless to say, I've missed you. We had a good thing going y'know? I write, you humor me and pretend to care, then we'd do it all over again next week.
That's why I'm here to say we've changed -- for the better, really. We're still your lovable Pedaling4Pups team, but we've made some adjustments to be an even better dog-themed bikepacking site for you -- our loyal readers. The Big Dogs of the pack. You were there for me, so now I'm here for you.
The Pedaling4Pups Mission
Our mission is two-fold.
1. Become THE Bikepacking website for pedaling the Great Divide.
If I learned anything from my travels, it's that anyone can go on an extended bikepacking trip -- or really any adventure for that matter. You just need the right preparation and guidance from folks who have done it. There are plenty of blogs out there that talk about the Great Divide, but not so many that tell you how to actually do the thing.
That's why we're going to provide tips, tricks, and more to help folks prepare for their next big bikepacking adventure. Whether it's a quick weekend trip or a full send down the Rockies, we'll have you covered with an (organized) brain dump of information related to all of your bikepacking needs.
2. Save all the dogs, frogs, and every other animal in between.
The original vision of this blog was to save animals from warzones -- and we're not going to stray from that mission. While we haven't been able to directly connect with Shelter Ugolyok, we will still invite folks to donate to their cause.
Our goal is to grow this site as much as we can, but we will do so with charity at our foundation. After all, if we don't save the pups, then who the hell are we pedaling for?
What to Expect From Pedaling4Pups
We can't become the best dog-themed Great Divide site without busting out a few new plays. From guidebooks to photo galleries, here's what you can expect from us in the next few months (and they say old dogs can't learn new tricks).
1. New Blog Content
We're off to a great start! We'll have more awesome blog content like this. I'll share more stories from the trail, tips that you can use to prepare for your own adventure, and some recommendations for new trips that you might want to try out.
2. Guides, Checklists, Tips, and More
There is a ton of information out there about bikepacking, but it's a little all over the map. Some guidebooks contradict each other, some checklists aren't clear on what to buy, and don't even get me started on shipping a bike on a plane.
The adventure shouldn't be creating a spreadsheet or making an itinerary for your trip. Let us handle that tedious stuff so you can focus on what's important -- like actually biking and camping. We'll create templates, checklists, guidebooks, and more that will keep you organized for your trip. Like this one here:
All we ask in return is that you subscribe to our email newsletter. Which brings us to our next point.
3. Tails From the Trail Email Newsletter
Tails From the Trail is our new weekly, monthly, and instant newsletter. We'll hit you with the latest from our blog, any new updates from the team, and all the good content that we come up with in between. Click here to subscribe.
4. The Pedaling4Pups Photo Gallery
I took so many pictures on the trail that a lot of them didn't make it to the blog. So, I took the time to set up this gallery page so you can check out the best images from the Great Divide.
5. More epic adventures!
I can't wait for my next adventure, but that's going to take some time to set up. Until then, I would love to hear about some of the epic trips that you guys have gone on. Send a summary of your trip and any cool pictures to pedaling4puppies@gmail.com and I will try to feature them on the site!
What's Next?
More awesome blog content. I'm going to tell you what I learned while biking the Great Divide and share a handy list of tips that you might want to save if you're planning something similar. Subscribe to our email, check out our free guides, and stay tuned for more from Pedaling4Pups.
